Overlockers trim, stitch and neaten in one step – the machine essential stitches pieces of fabric together, cuts the raw edges making it neat, and loops thread over the edges to stop the fabric from fraying. It can do other stitches too, like rolled hems and blind hems.
Coverstitch machines create professional looking hems and retain fabric stretchability. That means your stitches won’t pucker when sewing stretchy fabrics – like they can on regular sewing machines – and you’ll maintain the stretch in your fabric. You’ll often find these stitches on neck opening and arm hole to allow better movement.
